Fight to Survive – Mitch Waterman vs. Ryan Rapid

Preview by Dan Steadman

One of the more exciting new rivalries in recent months has been the one between Ryan Rapid and Mitch Waterman.

It’s really been a battle of youth vs experience, as the emerging Rapid has had the unexpected upper hand so far in this feud with his win over Waterman at Vendetta. It was a breakout moment for Rapid, and it was possibly a moment of crisis for Waterman, as he looks to be at a turning point in his career.

He’s a former MCW Champion, and by his own admission, he needs to prove to not just the MCW faithful, but also to himself, that he’s still Championship material. That starts at Fight to Survive.

Meanwhile, while Rapid has had a couple of high profile wins in recent months, there’s still an element of doubt about whether he’s the real deal, or just a newcomer that’s had more than his fair share of luck.

The best way for both men to prove that they are as good as they say they are is to remove all doubt from the equation.

Enter the Tap Out or Knockout match.

There will only be one winner, and whoever it is, they’ll do it by either forcing his opponent to tap out, or simply knock them out.

And with such a clear way to win being defined, it really comes back to a battle between youth and experience.

Perhaps Rapid’s youth may give him the upper hand when it comes to knockouts, but maybe Waterman’s experience gives him the edge in getting a tap out. Either way, it’s a very close call.

So, who will it be?
